EP: Emma Frances – Caverns of Youth

Those of us that crave wanderlust, and turn to music for a sense of joyful independence, should turn to Emma Frances and her latest EP ‘Caverns of Youth’. She blends a laid-back pop sound with soft melodies and thoughtful lyrics.

Earlier this month the San Diego-based indie pop singer songwriter released her new EP ‘Caverns of Youth’, it is a collection of four intriguing and playful soundscapes that recount lust and longing. Subtly swaying in the wind, ‘Honey’ is the first of four warm and subtle folk pop singles, followed by hints of jazz on ‘See You Tomorrow’. On her new EP, Frances showcases a wide vocal range, hazy harmonies, and melodic twists make for a collection of impressive songs.

‘Days’ returns to a more stripped back sound driven by soft strumming guitar lines and a steady rhythm that makes this a rather soothing single and our favourite of the EP. We end on a high with the bluesy vibes of ‘Melt’, which showcases another string to her vocal bow, giving the EP another dimension of sound and captivation. She’s a multifaceted musician we can’t wait to discover more of!
