On Friday, The Market Stage is the place to be at Truck Fest! Carsick kick things off with their mix of The Streets-like garage rock, punk rock a la Frank Carter, and a hint of Beastie Boys’ hip hop. Carsick thunder through a massive and nearly to the brim filled Market Stage. Overwhelmed by their huge and enthusiastic crowd, the band gave their all. Carsick live up to their exotic sound and energetic live reputation, and we’ll tag along for a Carsick-ride!

While Luke La Volpe played, most of the festival goers were relaxing on the field, with not many actually turning to see him. It’s a pity because he’s got a great voice that reminds of Sam Fender without its rough edge, Luke brought a welcome break for fans of Sam Fender and Lewis Capaldi.
Fast paced anthemic indie rock is always at its best live, which modernlove. proves with a passionate live set. They bring a sound a la fellow Irish group Inhaler, but they’ll be able to make it without a famous dad! Oh the sound of hazy alt pop just never gets old, does it? We’re here for the powerful rock sound and modernlove. gives it a plenty.
Move over Kaiser Chiefs, Red Rum Club are here to take your place! With only thirty minutes on the stage, the Scouse Americana group still manage to play most of their hits. New song ‘Black Cat’ sounds like the band have found their way back to their initial success formula. Steering away from simple pop songs such as ‘Vanilla’ and ‘Vibrate’, the band seem to be back in their ‘Kids Addicted’ era and we’re here for it, we couldn’t have asked for a better setlist when they end with ‘Would You Rather Be Lonely’! Ever infectious, powerful and rocking like no other, Red Rum Club steadfastly deliver incredible live shows!
After such highlights we’re careful in hoping The Vaccines will be playing all of their hits, but we’re in luck. Anyway… what is there left to say about The Vaccines? They’ve not missed a note, played most of their immense catalog of hits, hooked their entire audience and left us all dazed and amazed… Longing for more! They’re the guitar rock greats and it was a pleasure watching them, and hopefully see them be a regular on the festival stages again throughout the next few summers.

We stick around for TRUCK’S headliners Two Door Cinema Club, who released more bangers than I had realised and make the festival and its surrounding area shake at its core. A fabulous and powerful set filled with hit after hit make for a wonderful end of Truck Friday!
