City Pets‘ brand new EP ‘Heavy Petting’ is built upon a refreshingly exciting mix of catchy indie rock hooks, beautiful harmonies and consists of three eclectic alt rock tracks! ‘Heavy Petting’ was recorded by Daniel Doherty at the Darklands Studios and mastered by Pete Maher.
The three track EP starts with the heavy and hard-hitting ‘Sweet Emulsion’ which builds on bluesy riffs and beautifully dark vocals. A track that builds throughout, it’s an instantly intriguing one and the perfect to be followed by ‘Caroline’! She turns softer and sweeter in sound, with vocals very different from the EP-opener. An almost Beatles-esque pop rock sound with a soft and swaying rhythm, two songs in and the band already shows how versatile their well-crafted sound is.
Track number three is called ‘Ordinary Guy’ and takes on elements of both previous singles, sound-wise. Vocal-wise we turn it down a little and go flatter, sound-wise this one listens more like a rollercoaster and takes us on a musical journey through the life of an… You guessed it, ordinary guy! You can listen to City Pets’ EP right here, and judge for yourself.
