PJ Harvey announces outdoor London show

PJ Harvey just announced her only London summer performance of 2024, the outdoor show will be taking place at Gunnersbury Park with special guests Big Thief, Tirzah and Shida Shahabi on Sunday the 18th of August 2024. General tickets will be going on sale at 9am this Friday, the 27th of October via Ticketmaster.

About the show, PJ Harvey said: “I’m grateful to Gunnersbury Park for inviting me to curate this event. I have chosen what I feel to be some of the most exciting artists working today. With them I hope to be able to give the audience an emotional, heartening and uplifting experience.”

Her live performances have been called ‘otherworldly’, and while listening to her latest album ‘I Inside the Old Year Dying’, we can imagine that. Her music is for an acquired taste, one you need to grow into and spend time with, which is what we did. It is an almost emotional experience listening to her tenth album, and at times incredibly strange. Admittedly, ‘Seem an I’ would be our favourite, since her voice there is softly spoken in contrast to most of the other songs on the album. The wandering and theatrical sound of PJ Harvey is mesmerising in most of its forms and this special upcoming summer show will be just as captivating if not more then her recorded work.

The event next summer is said to be the event of the summer, taking place at one of the newly established favourite outdoor London venues. Gunnersbury Park will play host to a series of concerts including previously announced shows with Tom Grennan and Blossoms on the 10th of August.
