EP: The Manky Melters – One More Round

And now for something a little different on Music For The Misfits; The Manky Melters‘ brand new Celtic folk punk EP ‘One More Round’! The ever-uplifting sound of the folk punk genre has enticed us to give this powerful and spirited collection of songs a chance and we see no way back.

‘Adrift’ is the instantly thrilling opener of the EP with the vocals of charismatic singer Giada at its core. We continue with ‘YOLO’, which opens with the light-hearted sound of the banjo, festive vocal harmonies lead us through the track and truly make us revalue our life and realise it only is to be lived once, so we might as well do that while dancing around the table waving a tea towel above our heads. The Manky Melters catapult is back in time and show that there is space in this modern musical landscape for the empowering sound of Celtic folk punk!

Title track ‘One More Round’ is another driving drinking track, because “if you’re toasting, you might as well get drunk”. The band writes their songs from demos, once a demo is ready, they rearrange the songs together to get to the finished product. More soft strings dominate on ‘Yee Ha’, which doesn’t leave much to the imagination but it’s hard not to smile and dance along to the lively sound of The Manky Melters! ‘This Wandering Day’ is a The Rings Of Power soundtrack cover, and ‘ Shenanigans’ closes ‘One More Round’. The band should be well received by fans of Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys and Ferocious Dog!
