EP: WAMALA – Fitter, Better, Healthier

Melbourne-artist WAMALA just released his EP ‘Fitter, Better, Healthier’, a warm and ethereal exploration of mental health, personal growth, and identity.

The four track counting EP is a cumulation of soft and charming, comforting alternative pop songs. WAMALA’s voice shines bright and welcoming on the EP’s first track ‘Ain’t Really Livin’, which is a soulful pop song coloured by a beautifully theatrical soundscape. The EP was recorded with an eight-piece string ensemble in Melbourne and shows WAMALA being unafraid to push boundaries exploring a personal and fragile sound other often shy away from.

‘Dance Again’ shows another side of WAMALA’s musical catalogue being a more uplifting dance track, driving and thriving, ‘Dance Again’ is a track you just have to vibe along to. The four songs on the EP are all built on their own unique building blocks yet are bound together by the soulful voice of the artist that started his musical journey at just 11 years old. ‘No Matter How Long It Takes’ is an almost heart-wrenching ballad, with shimmering elements subtly lifting its soundscape that bring a smile to our face.

WAMALA closes his EP with ‘My Whole Life’, which is a piano-driven bluesy pop song and the perfect closing statement of this personal exploration of genres. Supported by two incredible acts, WAMALA will be playing the EP in full along with some old favourites and unheard new music at The Workers Club in Melbourne on the 30th of November.
