Loud, heavy, and banging, that’s what Monakis‘ latest ‘Say What You Want’ is. The track is one about empowerment and unapologetically brings all the elements of heavy and alternative rock to the forefront. It’s a fiery and energetic track, frontman James explains the thoughts behind it: “Its message is that regardless of how much someone tries to bring you down, you can stand strong. It represents the feeling of not allowing the antagonist to have the power to hurt you anymore.”
For the track the band worked together with producer Mike Horner, who previously worked with Deaf Havana and Placebo to name a few. On their collaboration guitarist Aron Butler said that it was a game-changer for the band, “we are now writing our best music to date, and having them both on board with the production process has elevated the sound to a whole new level.” The band are promising lots of new music in 2024… We can’t wait!
