‘Hostile’ is the last to be released from Manchester synth punk outfit’s Sugarstone‘s new EP ‘Terrible Tendencies’. The track is a nearly four minute long punching rock track allowing the singer’s vocal range to be stretched as far as possible. Its build up is a slow burning one, erupting in the form of a powerful chorus with a guitar-heavy hook.
Soft vocals lead us through Sugarstone’s latest journey, one inspired by goth and dance sounds of the 80’s, which was an influential era for the band. Their sonic soundscapes blend alternative rock with synth- and cyberpunk and intense vocals.
They sold out headline shows across the north west, a headline show in Wellington, New Zealand, and early snippets of the EP earned them a slot at RockAmRiver in September as well as an exclusive Maida Vale live recording session!
