Album: SonOfHarry – The World Has Gone Mad

Australian artist SonOfHarry has just released his debut concept album ‘The World Has Gone Mad’, it is a cumulation of soft alternative pop songs and ethereal, wandering soundscapes! The ‘Intro’ of the album brings an almost otherworldly soundscape that introduces the work of SonOfHarry, also known as Harry Cleverson.

He presents transformative sonic experiences in the form of eclectic tracks that together form an energetic short story driven by intuitive sounds. The beautifully captivating songs that are driven by theatrical piano sounds our my personal favourite, offering an immersive experience. His influences are taken from the likes of Pink Floyd and Queen, something adamant in the slowly building musical structures on his debut album. His solo project allowed him to expand into the indie and alternative pop scenes and he hasn’t held back on the boundaries he is pushing on ‘The World Has Gone Mad’!

Combining lush, melodic synths, fiery blues rock guitar lines and stirring orchestral arrangements the album is a surprise from the beginning until the very end. ‘Paradise Pt. 1’ is potentially the most commercially attractive indie pop song on the album, catchy and refreshing and one very easy to dance along to. A slightly more introspective and slow-burning gloomy sound enters the mix on ‘Moments of Beauty’, ‘Alien’ turns soulful, and ‘Can Not Be This Way’ is a fanatic and enthusiastic theatrical piece, sounding passionate and heartfelt.

Those last two terms are what we feel throughout the entire album, a concept strong and well thought-out, it truly cements SonOfHarry as one to watch on our musical map!
