Brimheim – Brand New Woman (feat eee gee)
A softly thumping new alternative pop collaboration was released by Brimheim and eee gee. Their ‘Brand New Woman’ was released lost month and its infectious subtle pop rhythm will forever be etched into my memory. The song is a powerful rendition inspired by the monologue of the famous ‘cool girl’ from David Fincher’s film ‘Gone Girl’. Brimheim and eee gee created an upliftingly emotive pop song with a soundscape driven by energising riffs and colossal drums. Elevated by a gorgeous voice in its midst, ‘Brand New Woman’ is one of my new favourite pop songs!
George Boomsma – Fallen
Grand and theatrical songwriter George Boomsma has composed another hazy and angelic dream pop song in the form of the voluptuous ‘Fallen’. The song is a subtly confident, warm, and emotive song driven by rich vocals and an even richer soundscape. Its sound is captivating, its message tear-yerking. “‘Fallen’ is a reflection on grief, and how while the world around you keeps turning, it can take a fair while to want to turn with it too.” George Boomsma makes me want to turn with the world again, after having gathered enough strength through listening to ‘Fallen’ a few more times…
The Masses – XVI
This wandering alternative rock sound, driven by its riffing guitar lines and pure vocals make for a great introduction to the sound of The Masses. ‘XVI’ is their latest, the single being a Muse-like grand anthemic rock composition of sounds, I already long for more of it. Raw emotion seeps through, takes over and dominates the colourful soundscape that drives ‘XVI’. The tremendous trio have much more up their sleeve, but for now I am happy to keep riding the wave of excitement and powerful energy ‘XVI’ brings!
