January Round Up

The Shop Window – I Run

A shiny, shimmering new jangle pop track was released by The Shop Window, ‘I Run’ bursts and rambles and shows the band have not yet lost their magic and charm. Harmonising vocals are our favourite element of the track, and its lyric a close second. On their new track, they say: “the lyrics are about the happiness and confidence that my family has given me. Most of my life I’ve never wanted to be at home, but now there is no other place that I would rather be.” Heart-warming and exciting, that’s what this is!

NORE – Because of Time

This colourful and passionate new indie rock song was released by Dutch artist NORE, ‘Because of Time’ is a slowly building and long-lasting impression from the indie rock sensation. The quintet talks about the concerns of their generation, and does so in the form of eccentric and uniquely crafted power rock ballads – in the case of ‘Because of Time’!

altre di B – Merighi

A softly strumming and shimmering guitar-driven soundscape is what drives altre di B’s latest ‘Merighi’. This instantly uplifting, colourful, and summery sound will put a smile on your face, guaranteed. This single is the first of altre’s new EP which will be out this year. His insecurities have led him to practice speeches in the mirror and now he’s determined to find himself again and reconnect to the person he was before. ‘Merighi’ is exciting and inspiring!

Maudlin Strangers – Don’t Worry, I’m Fine

‘Don’t Worry, I’m Fine’ is another dark and pungent rock track by Maudlin Strangers. Their latest is about dealing with a burnout, and its Turner-esque suave makes it sound ecstatic and thrilling. “Sometimes you have to give yourself time to reflect to figure out truly what it is that you want, and what will make you happy.” On their latest, they dive deep, they open up, and they do it in an incredibly infectious way!

Bellman – James Dean

A soft and subtly captivating new release was brought to us by Bellman, ‘James Dean’ is about Bellman’s fascination with Dean’s life and art, until his tragic death in 1955. While being a soothing alternative pop rock track, ‘James Dean’ is at the same time partly a history and art lesson necessary to all of us interested in the arts and lives of creatives in the past, the present, and the future! “Only the gentle are ever really strong” – James Dean

I Wish I Was A Punk Band – Sanguine

The video for I Wish I Was A Punk Band’s latest release was filmed with an Emmy winning producer and the collaboration of Emerald City Trapeze. On ‘Sanguine’ the feeling of vulnerability and risk within the exploration of a new romantic relationship are being shared, this dreamy indie rock song is as mesmerising as its video. Angelic vocals and a hazy, dreamy rock soundscape, ‘Sanguine’ is gorgeously grand and memorable.

The Thing – Midnight

The Thing’s new single ‘Midnight’ is taken from their upcoming second album and it’s is a rocking and riffing new track and a fantastic teaser for the album. The American pop rock outfit heavily rely upon a dark alt rock sound mixed with softer and more subtle sounds hinting at pop and an almost electronic rock soundscape. Dark, sultry vocals make ‘Midnight’ a great new track and us a new fan of The Thing…
