Dubinski – New York Arizona and This

Edinburgh-based band of brothers Dubinski have just re-released a single they’ve previously brought out under their old moniker of Ded Rabbit. ‘New York Arizona and This’ is now brought to new ears and tastemakers as if brand new.

The track is a soft and unhurried alternative pop track with calm and nearly spoken vocals, a subtly harmonious soundscape supports its spoken story. The single offers commentary on the struggles of an independent, touring band, and promises to induce feelings of nostalgia – especially for fans of the early hour – whilst making you want to visit Camden Town. Must say that its placid soundscape isn’t making me itch to visit anyplace anytime soon, but if you’re listening closely to its listeners, that might do the trick.

On the song, Eugene said: “This is a song written about driving from Edinburgh to London to play shows with no idea of what to expect. We were DIY and trying to push our touring as much as we could, only to be occasionally ripped off by venues and promoters, or playing to rooms of people that didn’t seem to give a damn about the music or the scene, to then make the long journey back home to Scotland.”

We’re itching to bounce along to the tracks that truly made us fall for the slightly awkward charm of Dubinski, with ‘All Fired Up’ topping the list. You’ll be able to bounce along with us at one of the dates below!
