Newcastle-based pop rock artist Jenny Lascelles has just released her brand new single ‘Inertia’, it’s a dark pop track tackling our collective inertia in the face of pressing global issues, such as climate change and corruption.
“It protests the way in which big companies and political bodies feed this lack of motivation for their own benefit.” The song opens with a dark and ominous soundscape introducing a beautiful yet daunting rhythm and Lascelles’ enchanting vocals. ‘Inertia’ slowly evolves into a slightly lighter track with mantra-like lyrics making the song a softly thumping and memorable new release. She describes her music as “like a summer’s walk… but through a graveyard” Which for this release is exactly how we’d describe it!
The singer songwriter and pianist is determined and sounds confident on her brand new release, enhancing the experience of listening to her music through expansive soundscapes and hazy vocal harmonies.
