EP: Matt Sahadi – Propagated Sins

Four cohesive and powerful alternative rock anthems are what makes ‘Propagated Sins’ a captivating EP by American artist and musician Matt Sahadi.

He gets his influences from the post punk and new wave movements that arose in the 80’s, and makes his music a true highlight by combining crunchy guitars with slamming drums and driving bass lines. His soaring vocals make the stories behind his songs stand out, and ‘Maybe It’s Time’ is our favourite of the EP highlighting those powerful vocals. We hear fanatic rocking riffs on ‘Another Day’ and dark weaving soundscapes on ‘Thru A Star’, these songs blend in well together yet play on their own compositions being ripe for stadium stages.

On his songs he highlights the pain of the games that lovers play, opening up, never hiding from the painful yet relatable subjects. His EP was recorded and produced in Nashville, then shipped to the UK for additional touches by mixing engineer John Catlin and mastering engineer John Davis, who respectively worked with Inhaler, Foals, and Led Zeppelin amongst many other. It is the refreshing blend of the Nashville-sound with a hint of Britpop that makes this EP an outstanding and unique one.

Over the last year, Matt has headlined many cities across America and toured with Irish indie band Somebody’s Child on their North American tour, and soon he’ll be supporting Dutch indie band The Vices as they roll through Nashville. It’s not just his music that’s crossing borders, it’s his collaborations too, and it seems to work rather well for him!
