Our Stockton Calling top tips

On the 30th of March we return to Stockton for our favourite music all-dayer, Stockton Calling. The festival is taking place across multiple venues spread over the town of Stockton and its line-up is, as can be expected, filled with exciting local and nationally well-known names.

As we are starting to design our route for the upcoming festival, we thought we would share some of our favourites with you. We have not yet looked at the stage splits for the day, so we might still be disappointed at being able to see all of our favourites. A band at the top of our list this year is funk rock outfit CVC who we experienced a few months ago when they headlined Newcastle’s The Grove. Their groovy funk sounds are incredibly infectious and will make a great addition to the festival’s line-up.

We are also very much looking forward to singing along to Reverend And The Maker’s Ed Cosens who’ll be performing his solo material, his new single ‘Suckerpunch’ is a shimmering alternative pop sound that brings a smile to our faces. Another artist gone solo is local artist Marina Josephina who brings mesmerising soulful pop songs, and there’s local pop artist Melanie Baker who just released a funny video for her single ‘Double Decker Death Machine’. We seem to miss them whenever they perform in the north east, so Stockton Calling will truly have to be the first time we experience band of super stars Moon Wax!

Then there’s the north east’s rock stars TV Death who we’ve rocked along to live a few times, and we simply can’t seem to get enough of them. Indie pop outfits Weathership and Sunbeam are guaranteed a catchy and a good time, so they of course needed to be added to the list. If this didn’t persuade you to come along to Stockton Calling, then we don’t know what will, so we’ve made it easy for you; get your tickets here!
