A beautifully spoken piece of poetry was shared by Sam Way, he wrote and performed ‘how to love’ with the support from delicate piano tones. His unhurried indie vibes and thick and sweet as honey voice tell us about the importance of love, and what it means to him.
‘how to love’ is an introspective and honest enquiry into love and life lessons intwined with love. It is the first spoken word piece he has ever released, and hopefully the first of many more to come. This beautifully and warm, heartfelt piece is soft and candid, relatable and its word could have just as well come out of our mouths. His performance is emotive and vulnerable, and stands strongly against the idea that men should not express their feelings, and be ‘manly’.
In his own poetic way, Sam Way expresses brings us thoughts he might never share again, and the way he softly performs his words makes us long for me. ‘how to love’ was written in a freezing living room in east London, and hopefully that room will bring us many more pieces such as this one.
