The beautifully fragile alternative folk sound of St. Lundi is release upon us in the form of brand new single ‘Different Houses’. His sharp and emotive voice at the midst of the mix, the song is a warm yet heart-wrenching song of heartbreak, and builds on a singular soundscape and strong vocals that are harmonised in its softly thumping chorus.
‘Different Houses’ is truly honest and pulls on our heartstrings while singing about experiences of growing up through a divorce. St. Lundi went to therapy for the first time two years ago and was able to process how the divorce effected him. There was a lot of forgiveness and inner reflection that needed to happen in order for him to be in a place where he could write this song.
The song touches on the heartache and emotional strain it can put on a person to see the two people that created you fall out of love. Somehow he has still been able to write a positive message on his parent’s divorce, on ‘Different House’, he talks about how although the family is living separately, they are still a family, they’re just living in different houses. The single is taken from the debut LP ‘The Island’, which is set for release in autumn this year.
