Coming Up Roses’ Favourites

London-based, Singapore-born indie alternative rock band Coming Up Roses are gearing up for the release of their long-awaited third EP, featuring previously released singles ‘Don’t Let It Break Your Heart’ and ‘Back The Way We Came’. We are big fans of the ethereal alternative rock outfit and decided to ask them some questions! Get to know Emily and Darius.

Where do you discover new music?

Emily: I discover new music usually on Instagram reels, or Spotify radio playlists!
Darius: I usually discover new music through recommendations by friends or sometimes by looking at festival line-ups!

What is your favourite place to write and listen to music?

Emily: I like to write music alone in my room but I love listening to music on the train!
Darius: I usually come up with song ideas in the bathroom haha… But then I enjoy writing alone in my room as well. I like listening to music on the bus while looking out the window.

What activity are you unable to do without music?

Emily: Any form of exercise haha! Especially if I’m just running on a treadmill.
Darius: For me, it would be any form of public transport. There’s usually too much going on and music helps me to calm myself.

What are your favourite things to do besides music?

Emily: I have this weird obsession of watching crime shows on TV or crime videos on YouTube. I also like making bracelets.
Darius: I enjoy photography quite a bit and I’m also a huge football fan, both watching and playing.
