Noshows – Wants and Needs
A vibrant new alternative electro rock track was released by Noshows. His latest is single ‘Wants and Needs’, a harmonious stadium rock track with strong vocals and a thumping soundscape that builds on subtly colourful musical elements. The intro slowly fades into an undeniably catchy chorus that instantly made me move along to its infectious rhythm.
The New York-based artist announced a performance at The Great Escape and a series of UK live dates at the same time as his new single release. ‘Wants and Needs’ is about the acceptance of love and simplicity and if its any indication of what his live shows will be like, we can’t wait!
Husky Loops – Acting Stupid
Husky Loops are pushing our genre-prejudices with the release of ‘Actin Stupid’ which introduces itself through a short snippet of singer Danio talking about the future. They’ve recently returned to the airwaves and have done it with a confidence we’ve only seen Husky Loops do before.
‘Acting Stupid’ says what it does on the tin and is a playful electronically distorted rock track on which the Italian London-based trio explore more of their broad and innovative indie rock approach. On the song, they add; “musically, we were inspired by the passing of time and its grooves… how your mood and approach change and, therefore, tape machines, time modulation, and weird fluttery noises invaded the whole track. I could hear slight anxiety and obsession in the sounds, and I liked that.”
Blaudzun – Shades
Dutch alternative pop artist Blaudzun has returned with the release of his new single ‘Shades’ which is another anthemic and subtly theatrical track building on his soft vocals and a synth-driven soundscape! ‘Shades’ is the third single from his upcoming album and thunders on through a constant rhythm and beautifully sharp vocals that lead us through an enchanted Blaudzun-tinted forest.
The new album will be out on the 18th of October and ‘Shades’ hints at a sound we are due to expect from his upcoming collection of songs. ‘Shades’ plays on 80’s bass synths, lyrics full of zest for life, and an inescapable melody hard to shake off once you’ve heard it. He adds; “In many ways, ‘Shades’ symbolizes the entire album. It’s an optimistic song for the capricious and sometimes complicated times we currently live in.”
