Our favourite Scottish singer-songwriter, Lewis McLaughlin, has returned with the release of single ‘Pressure’, which is a softly thumping alternative song driven by his sharp vocals.
The track builds slowly towards an exciting and electronically-charged pop chorus with his bloody honest lyrics at its midst. It’s a refreshing piece of straight-forwarded pop entwined with Scottish poetry and that’s all we needed on this grey Friday evening. He released the song at the start of this month, released another in the meantime, and is releasing his new album ‘A Hope In Fear’ in August.
‘Pressure’ brims with infectious energy and irresistible hooks and marks a significant moment for the fast-rising grassroots musician as he delves into a journey of overcoming life’s hurdles. He’s “coming to terms with the cards that fell upon me during the summer of 2022”, and captured the essence of resilience and determination within this new chapter that’ll soon be released upon us. The tracks on the album were written with live gigs in mind and bring that tingling energy of being in a room filled with people that have similar interests and having a dance with friends old and new. It’ll be a joy to see McLaughlin live again!
