A soft and hazy alternative pop release was brought to us by Melbourne-based artist Karen Harding. She’s just shared single ‘Stranger On A Pedestal’ with the world.
The track is a powerfully expressive piece of poetry put to music, soft guitar sounds guide the singer songwriter and her sharp voice through a melodic soundscape and a soaring emotive story. The acoustic number sees Harding pondering the intricacy of admiration and the existence of imperfections within ourselves. The song slowly builds to its warm crescendo and brings a refreshingly warm sound to our ears.
“‘Stranger On A Pedestal’ speaks to the point when the person you have admired from a distance becomes an actual, flawed human being. I wanted to get across that lightbulb moment when you finally see somebody for who they are, outside of the pedestal you’ve given them, it’s all about realising the beauty and vulnerability in our shared human experience.” Never-ending journeys of emotional depths and honesties are the red thread throughout Karen’s musical catalogue, and has won her critical acclaim worldwide.
She’s delivered a rough and honest new release with ‘Stranger On A Pedestal’ and hopefully there’ll be more to come very soon!
