Those of us that are gearing up for Kendal Calling‘s 2024 edition might struggle with such a stacked line-up, so we thought we’d highlight some of our personal favourites, making sure you’re not missing on any soon to be stars!
From the 1st until the 4th of August, the Lake District’s Lowther Deer Park will once again turn into a breeding ground for international and local musical talents, bringing their eclectic sounds, guitar riffs and bass lines to Kendal Calling. The festival is a voyage of discovery, our favourite mid-sized festival, and every year a treat to look forward to.
Headlining the festival this year are Britpop hero Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, legendary punk outfit The Streets, and guitar rock great Paolo Nutini, aside from Nutini we might be more intrigued by the names lower on the festival line-up poster. North East goth rock outfit Venus Grrrls, punk outfit Deadletter, comedic pop band The Lottery Winners, and Dutch indie rock band Pip Blom will all be gracing stages across Kendal’s festival field and we truly can’t wait to discover the new highs they have risen to as emerging superstars.
Kendal Calling, compared to other festivals, has outdone itself, giving the emerging locals a stage they might otherwise never be able to step on. Come some incredible internationally well-known acts such as their headliners, with fast-rising locals, and you have a fantastically musical line-up that is hard to miss and so easy to reach. Sold?
