Edinburgh-based alternative folk artist Eve Simpson has released a new and bittersweet folk summer anthem of an almost love, driven by her beautifully shimmering vocals.
The song slowly builds towards a colourful and harmonious chorus with soothing vocals and vocal harmonies, and hazy keys leading us through Simpson’s latest musical short story. ‘More of You’ is a wandering folk pop song taking its listener on a musical journey through slow intros, funky, and exciting compositions with a warmth not easily replicated. “Rich in rubato, ‘More of You’ depicts the ebbs and flows of developing feelings, and the confusion associated with almost romances.”
Honouring its live performance, the single centres around the keys it was written on combined with light guitar lines and the cello adding a hint of drama. The song is supported by a visual directed and produced by Glasgow-based artist Jade Willis, and accents the vulnerability and wistfulness of ‘More of You’. Its sound and visual represent the build up towards confessing a crush on a summer lover that is just out of reach.
