A soft and soothing new alternative pop ballad was released by Leif Vollebekk, ‘Southern Star’ is his latest and angelic single which will be followed by a headline tour across Europe in October this year.
The Canadian singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist revealed a strong and poignant ballad in his second single, and included backing vocals by Australian singer and songwriter Angie McMahon and Cindy Cashdollar on steel guitar. His new album is due for release on the 27th of September on Secret City Records. Vollebekk has come from nowhere and already shared a stage with Fred Again in San Francisco and is heading out on a European tour in October for which tickets are on sale now.
Soft and hazy vocals and a subtle sound, an emotive and powerful soundscape make for a refreshing listen and make Leif an artist we’re pleased to keep an eye and ear out for. A rising superstar having come out of seemingly nowhere, he’s gearing up for a series of Canadian festivals before heading to Europe. Listening to his latest, and the favourite he’s ever written, we’ll be sure to bring tissues to his live shows. You can find his upcoming live shows here.
