A soul-drenched punk track brought some sunshine to this grey summer’s day, the track is Casii Stephan‘s soulful rock release ‘Average Man’ and we can’t get enough of it!
Powerful and soulful vocals take us on a journey filled with driving drum rolls and exhilarating compositions, Casii Stephan released ‘Average Man’ and with that gave us a summer anthem fighting off the summer blues this grey British weather is giving us. Its fast paced soundscape wonderfully supports her incredible vocal range and highlights its strengths. She dances through the soundwaves and shares a love for powerful anthems in the form of a sound blending soul, rock, pop and indie genres seamlessly.
Casii shared that ‘Average Man’ was inspired by Shania Twain’s documentary “where her ex-husband cheater on her while she was going through Lyme disease, an Oncology Nurse told me it’s so common for some men to leave their partners when they get cancer that nurses will counsel women about it. When I heard this I knew I needed to write out my anger. These men seem to think they have the right to “better” partners when women lose their “resources” and I just wanted to cut their ego with a song. A woman’s value is more than her health; if you can’t see that, please stay single.”
She strongly translates her anger and frustration into an empowering song hopefully supporting those going through similar situations, offering a pillar to lean on and a song to sing along to when times are tough and, to be honest, a bit hopeless. ‘Average Man’ is the third single of the singer’s upcoming EP ‘Relationship Status’, which we’re hoping will be filled with more angry anthems for us to sing and dance along to!
