Niko are known for indie anthems coated in 70’s glam and 00’s rock and showcase what that sounds like on ‘The Fool’! On their latest single the Dutch band show a new and ethereal vibe.
Their soft and solid, hazy sound comes to us in the form of ‘The Fool’, with its pastel-tinted soundscape and soft vocal harmonies. This angelic sound is fuelled by edge guitar sounds and surprising elements which make ‘The Fool’ a multidimensional introduction to the genre-pushing outfit. Niko started out as a solo project that began on a trip to LA, and has grown to be a full on band project that is well-known across the Netherlands.
It’s been a bit quiet around the band for the past few months, but they’ve returned strongly and in a dignified manner with ‘The Fool’. The single introduces the next musical chapter of Niko’s career, and it’s a comforting and unhurried one at that. They released their self-titled album last year and we’re hoping for another in line with this new sound and era of Niko!
