Carefully thumping and driven by powerful riffs and strong vocals, the single shows how the band have added a string to their bow with this exciting and anthemic new indie rock release. Raw vocals are at their core, and they use those to their advantage on ‘Valentine’!
KAWALA – Old Me
KAWALA have shared another soft and unhurried, shimmering surf rock release with single ‘Old Me’. ‘Bonfire’ is another cinematic new release brought to us by Dutch alternative pop artist Blaudzun, the track plays with fire and touches the boundaries between indie pop and rock. Warm vocals and an echoing soundscape driven by theatrical strings make for a captivating listen and an addictive single. The single will be followed by a brand new studio album, ‘Latter Days’ is due out on the 18th of October!
Bear’s Den x Dermot Kennedy – Above The Cloud of Pompeii
Bear’s Den and Dermot Kennedy have collaborated on a powerful and theatrical pop release led by hazy vocal harmonies and powerful strings to drive its soundscape. ‘Above The Cloud of Pompeii’ is a reworked version of a fan-favourite, and appears on the band’s 10th anniversary of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Islands’. Those of us that enjoy easy-to-digest pop songs will enjoy this release!
Julesy – Left Behind
‘Left Behind’ is new original work by alternative pop artist Julesey, she brings us an eclectic soft rock sound, a thumping rhythm and sharp, angelic vocals showcasing her talent as an independent musician. Originally created during lockdown, the songs were made in her childhood bedroom and all produced by her. Julesy’s reworked the song with a band that bring subtly colourful layers of sound to this new release!
Meat Bags – Tear Gas
Meat Bags have introduced themselves to us through a short burst of defiance under the name of ‘Tear Gas’, their powerful punk rock sound talks about the governments’ new laws in 2023 to impose stricter restraints on protesters. Theirs is a short-but-sweet, thundering and powerful punk rock statement and a great introduction to what this bunch of north- and southerners is about!
The Toxhards – Satan’s Little Hell Song
A festive and powerful ska rock release introduces us to The Toxhards, ‘Satan’s Little Hell Song’ grabs by the balls from the very first tones and thunders down a rocking slope on a vehicle of which the breaks are no longer working. Add some toots and horns, shouting vocals and a bunch of chaotic vocals and vocal harmonies and you’ve got ‘Satan’s Little Hell Song’! The song is part of a larger concept album, “hopefully out next year”!
