Rose Cousins‘ comforting new alternative pop ballad is an ode to love and makes those that struggle with it feel seen and heard. Her beautiful voice shines bright while it talks of the emotions we all deal with at some point in life.
She created a softly spoken new release that is driven by a subtle soundscape leaving all possible space for its story to be heard. The Canadian folk pop artist and singer songwriter “really really” does believe in love, but it’s hard… And we couldn’t agree more. In March next year, Rose will be releasing her new album ‘Conditions of Love – Vol 1’, and this is one of the corner stones of the album. On the new album, Rose holds her listeners’ hands as she guides them on a journey through the “conditions of love”.
Rose shares, “Love feels great and makes us ridiculous. It’s tiring and intense, joyful and devastating. Falling in love, being in love and staying in love are all such different things. Being human is emotionally complicated enough without attempting to relate to another who is just as complex, and in the most vulnerable of arenas: romance. Love is wondrous and absurd (and very hard). Humour helps.”
‘I Believe in Love’ is a wandering alternative pop release that made me softly sway along, letting the thoughts and emotions loose. The single is a reflective and contemplative track that leaves no room for wandering off, the question is; do you believe in love? If you’re not sure yet, just give the single another listen, eventually, you’ll get there…
