A soulful collection of alternative folk songs was released by contemporary folk artist Molly Donnery. She blends folk with traditional Irish music on six beautiful songs.
Beautiful string-driven soundscapes, combined with angelic vocals, surprising vocal harmonies, and soulful compositions make for an intriguing listen even for fans of modern music. Molly Donnery has created a distinct sound for herself and shares it on her new EP ‘Times We Shared In Innocence’. On the EP she reflects on a deep connection to her Irish heritage while exploring universal themes of relationships, memories, and the passage of time.
Born and raised in the Irish Midlands, her musical journey began at a young age and despite having never let go of her classical roots, she’s created a sound that is modern, relevant, heartfelt, and refreshing. She brings a soft, simple, yet colourful sound that is mesmerising in its own right. ‘Pull Me Under’, ‘She Hates Me In The Morning’ and its title track are some rather poignant pieces in music that perfectly introduce Molly and her musical signature.
On her EP, Molly shared: “The EP is a collection of songs that follow different relationships in their different iterations. It is titled ‘Times We Shared In Innocence’ because whether the relationships were loving or toxic, they all initially came from a place of innocence and intrigue, a hopefulness and an excitement for what was to come.” The EP takes us on a sonic journey filled with stunning vocals, layered instrumental compositions, and themes that delve into the innocence of youth and the complexity of human connections.
