Live: Vice Killer’s exciting indie rock live at The Common Room

It’s no news that the north east is filled with musical talent, and on Saturday we experienced that live at Vice Killer‘s headline show!

Energetic and charismatic three-piece Risco opened the night for a packed Common Room in Newcastle’s city centre. The three young musicians brought their energetic rock tracks with slick riffs and threw in a few jumps for good measure. They brought a charming set filled with enthusiasm and great, infectious energy. Risco have been playing all over the country including venues in Darlington, London, Stockton, and of course Newcastle!

Co. Durham-based outfit Vice Killer was who we came to see at The Common Room and they delivered on the fun and bouncing night we’d hoped for! Their eclectic mix of indie pop and alt rock and energising stage presence makes for a great night, adamantly. The fast growing band are due to release their debut album in April and showed us a peek behind the curtain of what to expect of their new collection of work.

Previously released of the album are ‘Leo’ and ‘No Swearing in the Bar’ and earlier release ‘Heroine’ are all hard hitters, single ‘The Dark Side Of The Railway (Sunny)’ comes with an incredible video including a fantastic duo giving us a mesmerising choreo. We got a glimpse of the pair live in action while they danced their socks off at The Common Room and that might have just been a personal highlight. Thoroughly impressed, entertained, and recharged, we leave The Common Room after a night that could’ve easily lasted twice as long, so that we could bust a few more moves to the killer tunes of Vice Killer!
