‘Circles’ is the debut full-length by blues rock outfit Tsavo Highway. The collection of ten tracks is soulful and filled with slick guitar riffs!
We hear soft and calculated tracks that are driven by passion and a love for wandering guitar sounds that all blend together in story telling bluesy short stories. ‘Circles’ explores themes of growth, connection, and navigating life’s cycles, showcasing the band’s dynamic rock and jam sound that was heavily influenced by artists such as Tedeschi Trucks Band, Phish, and grateful Dead. Its songs, such as its title track, ‘Bravo’, and ‘Same Old Town’, deliver on vibrant instrumentation, heartfelt lyrics, and improvisational energy which reflects the band’s evolution and the deep passion this album is drenched in.
A warm and vibrating sound that is most addictive enters the mix on ‘The Flame’, which is as hot as its title suggests, while we wander on ‘Soul Stealing’ and bounce along jollily on ‘Introspect’. An actually introspective track on the album is ‘Marco Polo’ which grabs and hooks with its soft and shoegaze-infused guitar-driven intro and beautifully daunting vocals. A favourite is potentially still the album’s title track which offers an instant bounce in your step through its exciting and almost surf pop-inspired intro! Stunning vocals and hazy vocal harmonies round off this track and its album, creating a well-rounded musical story that we could easily listen to on repeat.
The band’s goal is simple; to create memorable experiences through authentic performances, and a shared love of sound. With the release of this ten track counting album, they have achieved that twice over, allowing us to join into this next chapter of the band’s musical career by indulging us into the warm and comforting sounds they’ve created!
