Pentire – Being Underwater

Pentire have created a catalogue of soaring indie anthems and recently added emotive ballad ‘Being Underwater’ to this list of releases, the track is taken from their brand new EP ‘Love On TV’.

I’ve tried a few pop songs recently, to figure out what the hype is all about and if I could get into it, but I’ve been unable to figure it out and much rather listen to the soaring alternative pop of a fast rising band like Pentire. ‘Being Underwater’ speaks and feels with attention and emotion, and will always beat the repetitiveness of ‘Pink Pony Club’ for me.

Vocals that ebb and flow like the unpredictability of the sea take us on a journey through the musical mind of Herefordshire-based indie band Pentire. The track elaborates on a soft synth rock-infused soundscape with passionate vocals leading the way. ‘Being Underwater’ is taken from their recently released six track counting collection of eclectic and anthemic indie rock, ‘Love On TV’ is an emotional rollercoaster, just the way I like it.

On the single, frontman and songwriter Jack Morgan said: “‘Being Underwater’ is about moving out to the city and finding life beyond your hometown. Growing up and succumbing to real life can feel isolating and often as if you’ve been ‘underwater’ all these years. This song was written during a visit back to my family home, in a break from the new-found city life.” With its delicate yet potent instrumentation, ‘Being Underwater’ pulls on your heartstrings and drips with heartfelt emotion. This is the beginning of a new chapter for the band and I’m excited to be a tiny part of it.
