Public Order – Joker

It is a talent of the few to leave an impression with a live show that’s not particularly energetic, when the music speaks, magic happens. Public Order mesmerised with their blend of electronic alternative rock and reciprocate on new single ‘Joker’.

The introspective yet fast rising outfit are among the many talents that are currently pouring out of Wales, bringing a captivating sound and a new story to our ears. ‘Joker’ is taken of their highly-anticipated debut EP ‘HELLO’ and its one of my favourites of theirs so far. Creaking vocals and a warm guitar-driven soundscape, amplified by soft vocal harmonies, and rhythms that listen like a rollercoaster ride. ‘Joker’ is a predictable surprise, a paradox that challenges our views on indie pop and rock.

The single builds on Public Order’s reputation for blending emotive storytelling with a pulsating energy. On ‘Joker’, the band said: “‘Joker’ is a bittersweet snapshot of youth. It’s about living in the moment, embracing the chaos, the messiness, and the beautiful but fleeting moments. It’s the realisation that not everything is meant to last, and that’s okay.”

Working alongside Grammy Award-winning producer Jim Abbiss, known for his work with Arctic Monkeys and Adele, Public Order’s upcoming EP is a fresh and experimental evolution of their sound. The band will headline select shows this spring, including performances at Independent Venue Week, Dot To Dot festival, and a special show at Caldicot Castle with Razorlight later in the year.
