Circa Waves created quite a splash of melodic indie rock brilliance during their headline show at NX, Newcastle! Supported by the wonderful Corella, and Peace, who both give very enjoyable performances that mixed the energetic with laidback melodies, enough to get the audience primed and ready for the headliners to take to the stage.

Since the Liverpool bands’ debut release double A-side ‘Get Away’ / ‘Stuck in my Teeth’, way back in 2013, these initial tracks swiftly become the catalyst for a string of releases and gigs all over the world. Circa Waves have enjoyed success and battled through some incredibly tough times, such as lead singer Kieran Shudall’s health scare in 2023, to return to the stage and unite with their loyal fanbase, from intimate gigs to festival fields and stadium tours, such as the one tonight, and they’ve packed the place with an electric atmosphere!

Showcasing both nostalgic tracks alongside new offerings from their sixth studio album ‘Death & Love, Pt. 1’, of which this current tour is named, Circa Waves treat fans with boundless upbeat vigour and heart-warming affection, even dedicating their song ‘Jacqueline’ to all those baring the same name in the audience, together with plenty of crowd participation throughout, the set flowed wonderfully into an almighty crescendo when finally, ‘T-Shirt Weather’ was unleased upon the now frenzied, adoring gig-goers! A sea of hands and those perched on shoulders lapped up the upbeat fan favourite!

The joyous scenes bringing the Newcastle leg of their tour to a swimmingly satisfying end.
