The Amazons – Night After Night

Indie rock legends The Amazons return with ‘Night After Night’ after a powerhouse collaboration with Royal Blood for ‘My Blood’. This new release shows they’ve only gained in relevance and bring their thunderous anthemic indie sound back to stages across the UK!

Opening the track with exciting synth elements and haunting vocal harmonies, after which heavy guitar riffs kick in, The Amazons know what they’re doing… Those thick as honey, syrupy vocals hit like a shot of caffeine on a dreary Monday morning, The Amazons can beat any Monday blues. ‘Night After Night’ is unapologetically loud, exciting and thunderous, drives the band to the forefront of our conscious, taking up as much space as possible with its grand and stadium-like, anthemic soundscape.

Its raw energy is what we’re hoping to hear more of on the upcoming album, ’21st Century Fiction’ which is due out within the next few weeks. They’ll also be back hitting the stages and turning venues across the UK upside down with their soaring sounds. An anthem of frustration and self-reflection, The Amazons drew inspiration from their time spent at Jumbo’s Clown Room in Hollywood, singer Matt Thomson explains; “what interested us were the guys who’d go there all the time, who became part of the furniture, at the bar night after night compelled to be there, unable to break out. It’s easy to judge, but we all have our habits, some more visible than others.”

“It’s only when we try to hop the fence, that we realise how much of a hold they have over us.” And now their new release has a hold over us like nothing else. Known for their incredible stage presence, there’s not a bone in my body that’s not looking forward to their upcoming UK tour during which I will undoubtedly scream along to indie anthems old and new, including of course brand new favourite; ‘Night After Night’.
