Album: David Wimbish & The Collection – David Wimbish & The Collection

David Wimbish & The Collection released a captivating collection of soaring alternative folk songs on their new self-titled full length album. Through eight tracks they announce a new beginning after they’ve wiped the slate clean, opening up and transforming throughout.

He opens strongly with powerful bluesy pop release ‘Won’t Stop Yet – One More Hour’, on which his authentic voice plays main character. Ballads such as ‘Love Me More’ and ‘You – Taste Like Wine’ elicit strong emotions through candid song writing and velvety smooth musical compositions, while ‘The Weather – Too Tired To Cry’ begs for lighter subjects to talk about and brings an almost anthemic chorus.

David Wimbish returns to his origins after four full-length album at the helm of The Collection, the singer-songwriter brings introspective short stories and vibrant soundscapes on songs such as ‘Medication – Deserve To Be Well’, a personal favourite. This new self-titled long-player features revisits and introduces two new songs, with its common characteristics being that they have all turned out to be big and anthemic folk pop songs.

Speaking of the album, David says “I always just want people to feel like they’re not alone. On these songs, I’m tapping into some deeply vulnerable topics and spaces, like relationships, self-loathing, depression and fear. My hope is people will feel very seen and maybe even held.” He’s undoubtedly achieved this goal as the album showcases a comforting sound, familiar yet brand new, and addictive throughout.
