Bonn-based alternative rock five piece Dating Medusa just released their EP ‘Rauschen’, which counts five heavily thumping rock tracks with soaring vocals that echo long after listening.
Their heavy guitar-driven soundscapes swing and sway with swagger on first track ‘Medusa’, while ‘Weg von Hier’ is an instantly infectious pop rock release with a chorus that’s undeniably catchy. Raw vocals and dark musical compositions that rock and rumble make this EP an addictive listen. Hints of inspiration taken from Queens of the Stone Age roar their head on ‘Autopilot’, and ‘Traumfänger’ hints at a soft rock influence as it slowly builds towards euphoric high notes.
The German five-piece pack noise, groove, and emotion and let them erupt into powerful rock soundscapes driven by German lyrics. Their sound ranges from grunge to alternative and stoner rock, sometimes loud and dirty, sometimes quiet and dreamy, yet always convincingly heavy and passionate. This debut EP tells stories of magical encounters, nights in the city, and the dark side of relationships. Filled with danceable hooks and slick riffs, they keep their listeners on their toes and convince us to want to see the band live. Live, they promise to be wild, funny, and intense, a date with Dating Medusa is a date you won’t soon forget.
All in German, all self-composed and produced, without any frills, Dating Medusa shows off what it is really like to be a band. Throughout ‘Rauschen’ they took us on a journey of heavy heartbeats, hip sways, headbanging, and lots of heavy rock energy!
