Organisers of Sunderland’s multi-venue music event Waves Festival have revealed the stunning first wave of artists that will be performing at Ripples on Saturday the 15th of November across Independent and Space Bar.
They’ve truly gone all out for this one-off event, making up for the loss of Wave Festival this year, which can’t take place in its usual format due to a lack of funding. The team behind the festival have created Ripples to keep up the energy and celebrate emerging talent and the vibrant live music community within and outside of Sunderland.
The first wave features Brighton’s electrifying, and personal favourite, punk trio SNAYX, high-energy psych inspired Ellis·D, and powerhouse alt-rockers Jools, who are joined by an eclectic mix of exciting grassroots performers such as Critch, Distant Listening, Lottie Willis, and Wool. More artists will be announced in the coming weeks, for that announcement, we simply can’t wait.
On Ripples, the festival organisers said: “Ripples is about keeping the spirit of Waves alive and continuing to give a platform to incredible artists from the North East and beyond. We’re buzzing to share this first line-up and to bring a packed day of live music back to Sunderland this November.” Ripples will feature three stages across two of Sunderland’s grassroots music venues – Independent and Space Bar – offering a full day of performances from emerging and established artists from across the UK. Tickets are available here!
