Freya and The Vikings – Eyeliner

Words by Julia Naish

Freya and The Vikings roll back in swinging with ‘Eyeliner’, a pedal-to-the-floor rock track that doesn’t know the meaning of brakes. It’s the second shot fired ahead of their upcoming album, and it hits like a band that knows exactly who they are and isn’t waiting around for permission.

This thing moves. The rhythm drives hard, the guitars bite without getting messy, and everything locks into a groove that keeps pushing forward. It’s got that head-nod, foot-stomp momentum that pulls you in whether you’re ready or not. No filler, no fluff, just straight-up rock fuel. Then there’s the chorus. Big, catchy, and built to stick long after the last note fades. The triple-vocal setup is the secret weapon here. Three lead female voices trading lines and stacking hooks turns the chorus into a full-on chant, the kind that begs to be yelled back at the stage with a beer in the air. You can hear the band pulling from all over the rock map.

There’s classic grit in the guitars, a modern snap in the production, and a fearless attitude holding it all together. Freya and The Vikings aren’t chasing one sound or one era, they’re grabbing the best bits and smashing them into something loud and confident. ‘Eyeliner’ feels made for dark rooms, hot lights, and volume cranked just past sensible. It’s tight but dangerous, catchy but still rough around the edges. Exactly how rock should be. If this track is any indication, Freya and The Vikings are lining up an album that’s built to hit hard, sing loud, and leave ears ringing. Eyeliner doesn’t blink. It stares you down and dares you not to turn it up.
