Primavera Sound 2024: Highlight on the Headliners

Primavera Sound‘s headliners this year are truly spot on, so I thought I’d shine a spotlight on them for you to get an idea who to stay up late for next week! I can’t wait to see Pulp, Vampire Weekend, The National, and Lana Del Rey!

Pulp disbanded in 2001, came back in 2011 at Primavera Sound, and decided to once again return to the Primavera stage! Their incredible hit ‘Common People’ never not sends people into a musical frenzy, and they simply never lost any of their cool. The band went ahead of a whole movement of emerging bands, and still inspires young musicians all over the world.

00’s indie outfit Vampire Weekend have released a whole collection of incredible indie bangers, and their idea of hypersensitive pop music this century. They offer a refuge for those who can’t find it in rock, hip hop or electronica and bring harmonious sounds to stages all of the world, Barcelona is next!

A highlight in its own right will be to see crooning alt pop heroes The National, who keep creating timeless tracks that give goosebumps with every single listen. They have become the La Résistance of a certain kind of rock; romantic and cinematic, organic and melodramatic. I truly can’t wait to experience Berninger’s subtle charm live.

Here’s an artist that will surprise me no matter what she’ll do, partly because I have no expectations. International pop star Lana Del Rey will be bringing a completely different sound to my Primavera Sound and if I have to believe her previously released albums, it’s going to be an absolutely stunning and somewhat heart-wrenching sound. Either way, a present I can’t wait to unwrap.
