Melbourne-based solo artist Evie Lulu recently shared a beautifully vulnerable new pop track called ‘Doubt’, and it’s been stuck in my head ever since. ‘Doubt’ showcases her soft and simple vocals and raw, down-to-earth lyrics that expose emotions she simply couldn’t keep to herself, and we’re grateful for it.
About her music and most recent way of writing, Evie said: “The more comfortable I’ve gotten in myself, I’ve felt less desire to appease what I think people might want from me to more just writing for myself and my emotional needs. It actually seems to work out a lot better too. This song took time, there was a lot of back and forth, but I’m proud of the final product.”
The single takes on a combination of raw, angelic and grungy and brings a refreshing mix to the table that helps Evie Lulu stand out from the others within her genre. This combination of soft folk and alt pop seems to work well and makes us curious to hear more of the talented songstress!
