Mae Krell – apollo’s song

A beautifully intricate new pop song was released by American singer and songwriter Mae Krell. ‘apollo’s song’ is her latest offering, a song drawn by subtle colours and a beautifully simplistic guitar-driven soundscape. The wistful and poetic artist looks upon the significance of getting older on her latest indie folk song, which is also the lead single of the upcoming debut album!

‘apollo’s song’ came about last fall when Mae toured the United Stated with only her dog, her guitar, and a tent on the roof of her car. The song reflects on the aging of dog Apollo, and that when Mae got Apollo, she didn’t see herself sticking around for very long. Now it seems the tables have turned and she will be outliving Apollo, which is a bittersweet feeling.

The song is a short story, poignant, open and honest, and its lyrical content carries a lot of weight for a song sounding so light-hearted. About the song and the upcoming album, she said: “This whole album is a coming of age story of someone who didn’t plan to come of age, or ever think that she would.” The accompanying video for the song features a look at Mae and Apollo and the love between the two.

The upcoming months will be monumental for Mae and her musical career as she embarks on a fall UK tour and is set to release additional singles ahead of the release of her debut album, which is due for release in April 2024.
