Rising Irish indie folk outfit Kingfishr have just released a captivating new single, ‘I Cried, I Wept’ is vibrant and appetising. They’ll be touring the UK and Ireland this autumn, so we’ll see you down the front!
The powerful and passionate piece of sweet guitar folk loving is a fascinating track, driven by stunning and raspy vocals and engaging compositions throughout. Its exciting chorus is one we still hum along to, ‘I Cried, I Wept’ is a favourite in our book, Kingfishr a new name on our wish list of artists to experience live. The song was born out of rousing, guitar-led melodies and captures the raw intensity of the trio in a room together.
This thunderous and energetic anthem made us adjust our headphones and turn up the volume, the song satisfies a desire we didn’t know we had. At times subtle, and softly shimmering, but mostly loud and ecstatic, ‘I Cried, I Wept’ is a fantastic new release we will be adding to all of our playlists. On the track, the band added: “It represents the feeling of burying some piece of yourself in order for the rest of you to live on, and then wondering if that sacrifice will actually make a difference. If it doesn’t, then where are you?”
