Sheffield-based fast rising emerging indie rock outfit Work In TV have returned with the release of ‘The Good Life’, and will soon be taking the stage at Waves Sunderland!
A fantastically catchy new indie rock release was shared by the ever evolving outfit that have showed time and time again how versatile they are both recorded and in a live setting. ‘The Good Life’ is the soundtrack helping us battle our winter blues and brings a smile to our face as soon as we hit play once again. This swaying indie rock releases play with elements of indie, pop, rock, and a breath of salty fresh air. Its soundscapes combines dark synth, thumping drums and smooth guitar licks, add in a layer of strong vocals and soft harmonies and you have a refreshing yet melancholic new release!
Lyricist Jack Hardwick tackles “the hard realities of struggling with mental health, living in an increasingly demanding economy and the overbearing feeling of burnout that binds us all”. Despite such strong subject, he brings them with dry with and an ultimately hopeful perspective. Combining the love for their favourite artists such as LCD Soundsystem, Warmducher and Yard Act, they’ve crafted themselves a niche that suits them rather well. Following other personal favourites ‘Spiral’ and ‘Better Hours’, the band have done it again with ‘The Good Life’, it’s an earwig we don’t want to shake off!
On Saturday the 16th of November the band will be playing at Sunderland’s multi venue all-dayer Waves Festival, sharing the bill with headliners Miles Kane and Red Rum Club, and other locals such as Ten Eighty Trees, Palma Louca, and a recent new favourite of ours; Whinge. The festival’s clashfinder has just been released and tickets are still available!
