Mesmerising Seattle-based artist and producer SYML released new single ‘Heartbreakdown’ and stunned once again with a warm indie story of heartbreak.
His rich and velvety voice drizzles like honey over a warm surface, supported by a luscious and intimate soundscape that wraps around his voice like a soft blanket. Beneath this softness lays an emotive tension we have all experienced at least once in our lives. SYML’s voice perfectly describes the sorrow of heartbreak, which we can feel in every word and note. ‘Heartbreakdown’s entrancing soundscape pulls on our heartstring through layers of sound that shift and shape and gently pulls us deeper into SYML’s latest narrative.
‘Heartbreakdown’ is the second preview of his forthcoming album ‘Nobody Lives Here’, which is set to be released in a month’s time. On the new single, SYML added: “No one is immune to heartbreak, and it happens when we are young and old. The best case is it teaches us how we want to love and be loved. The worst is that it hardens us and makes us cynical. The hope in this song is that we learn to forgive after a heart is broken.” He recently announced four intimate acoustic performances and a Spring European tour, which we assume, together with the new single and upcoming album, will make quite the splash!
