Annie Macs Hottest Record is the new Sea Girls, ‘Violet’, which is a fresh piece of synth-pop to bop your head along to. Moving back and forth from slow chapters to uptempo choruses the track moves from being an upbeat indie rock track to low-tempo alternative pop which keeps it a journey not to get lost on. I can only imagine what the song would sound like live and luckily the band is going on tour through the UK this autumn! Find their tour dates at the end of this praise about the band.
Now the reason this track was written, according to singer Henry, is: “If our other tracks are the shade, then Violet is definitely the light. There is no tortured soul here, just a boy who avoided the inevitable for years, suddenly realises, and throws himself wholeheartedly to someone who’s made for him. Put your face in a sink of ice cold water and that’s how it makes me feel.”
