I am a massive Queens of the Stone Age-fan which explains why I am now a massive Nova Cult fan. Okay, let’s maybe not use the word massive for this new discovery yet but their newest release ‘Sequel’ is definitely making me feel things! It’s the first single of Nova Cult’s debut album, ‘Never Better’. With many hard-to-recognize samples, interesting hooks and unexpected turns it is an outstanding release that is hard to compare with many most recent releases or the ones that have been appearing in the charts. With hints of punk, indie rock and alternative rock it is a blend of three of my favourite genres. ‘Sequel’ is meant to be an ‘in the moment’ connection between multiple instruments as J.J. found out it is quite difficult to play all of them at the same time.
