Electro pop duo Moodbay have released their new single Ghost, it’s an electronically driven moody but up beat pop song with vocals that are spot on. Basically, it’s what we have seen and heard of Moodbay before and it is refreshing that the duo is sticking to their slightly eccentric sound. Moodbay consists of producer and songwriter Alfie Cattell and vocalist and songwriter Anna Stephens, based up in the North East they are going against the current of indie pop bands that are inspired by Oasis.
How did Moodbay start to make music you ask? Well, Anna used to live in Paris where she worked at a magazine house. She spent most of her time writing poems at her desk, and later on put her words to music. Self-taught musician Alfie grew up in North Wales and now produces the edgy sounds that drive Anna’s vocals along. Influenced by Radiohead, Gorillaz and Christine and the Queen, Moodbay are a good old throwback to a year or twenty ago when outstanding tones were still supported. They’ve been played on Amazing Radio, got attention from NARC magazine and were played on BBC Music Introducing Radio Tees in the past.
The duo have proven themselves to do their own and they do it in style. Getting better at their stage presence with every gig, the duo is visually improving, and ‘Ghost’ invigorates that. Listen underneath!
