Before we bid farewell to 2022 and gear up to highlight the bands of tomorrow we have an exciting announcement to share for fans of synth-driven post punk slash new wave. IST IST have just released their new philosophical and synth-layered single ‘Mary in the Black and White Room’, it comes with video and is taken from the upcoming third album ‘Protagonists’!

Theirs is a dark and driving post punk sound that reflects and turns truths on its head, the Manchester frontrunners create a sound we have felt nostalgic for for years and they have finally scratched the place that we couldn’t reach! ‘Mary in the Black and White Room’ is drenches in dark and layered synths, darting basslines and lyrical intrigue and hits the nail on the head for fans of OMD and The Cure.
About the new single, Adam Houghton says: “‘Mary in the Black and White Room’ is about trying to figure out if experience trumps knowledge. See ‘the Knowledge Argument’ where the subject, Mary, exists in a black and white world but has extensive descriptions of colour, but you don’t know if she knows what they actually look like until exposed to it.” Listen to this intriguing track below.
