New for your ears: Bosola, Amelie Lucille and Chaz Cardigan

Bosola – Truth Man

Rough vocals and a fun, upbeat guitar-driven soundscape are what makes Bosola’s latest such an infectious new indie rock track. ‘Truth Man’ is a refreshing and new alternative sound, a single sounding like a diamond yet to be polished with a catchy chorus which makes it a live favourite of the north east-based singer song writer and musician!

‘Truth Man’ is a song about living a lie or at least cohabiting one. Written as a reflection on a younger version of himself the song takes on biblical and then revolutionary inflections on moral relativism and relational Machiavellianism, before concluding this era, although a useful and painful learning curve is perhaps best left in the past.

Amelie Lucille – See Me

‘See Me’ is a beautifully soft, hazy alternative pop sound mixed in with a hint of jazz and influences taken from theatrical pop songs. Amelie Lucille’s created a colourful and dynamic soundscape driven by gorgeous vocals and wandering musical compositions. On her latest release, she navigated the painful struggle of leaving a toxic relationship.

‘See Me’ is an emotive plea to be released when you don’t have the strength to end a poisoned situation yourself, in Amelia’s words: “I wrote ‘See me’ as a way to reach out to people that are in a toxic relationships, whether it is with a partner, friend, or family. The song is written as a cry for help. My goal is to always be sincere in my lyrics and therefore hopefully relatable to the listeners.”

Chaz Cardigan – Are We Gonna Do This

This powerful, emotive and romantic new release makes us love Chaz Cardigan, his latest is called ‘Are We Gonna Do This’ and talks about what dating is like nowadays. I wouldn’t know, and I wouldn’t want to either, but I do know that ‘Are We Gonna Do This’ is an anthemic new indie pop track with great vocals and a catchy and thumping soundscape!

The single is the focus track from the debut LP, ‘A Year In Glassland’, and came from a challenge given by Cardigan’s father to write about what dating is like these days. “I don’t really write about my own love life on my records. Love is usually a metaphor in my songs”, we look for ourselves in others, and everyone we meet should be “the one”, ‘Are We Gonna Do This’ is about how hollow those relationships can feel.
